Multiple payment sources
Information arrived through different channels and had to be normalized before it could be compared.
We automate bank-payment reconciliation and update those payments in the customer’s administrative platform through an overnight, unattended and traceable process.
Reconciliation had to be performed manually alongside the user’s other operational responsibilities. As a result, received payments could not always be processed at the same pace at which they arrived, creating gaps between banking reality and the information available in the administrative platform. The impact went beyond workload: the company could begin the day without a sufficiently current view of receivables, payments already made and the resources actually available.
Information arrived through different channels and had to be normalized before it could be compared.
Not all payments could be handled the same way: there were rules, matches, exceptions and cases requiring traceability.
While payments remained unreconciled, the administrative platform did not fully reflect the real financial situation, making it difficult to know precisely what had been collected, what remained outstanding and what resources the company had available.
We designed an unattended process that runs on a schedule, processes banking information, applies business rules, identifies exceptions and automatically updates reconciled payments in the administrative platform.
The goal is not only to reconcile. It is to complete the cycle so information is available and current at the start of the next business day.
At the start of the day, payments processed overnight are already reconciled and reflected in the platform, reducing the gap between banking reality and administrative information.
Execution does not depend on a person manually starting each stage.
The same rules and validations are applied consistently in every execution.
The company can more clearly distinguish which obligations were paid, which remain outstanding and which exceptions require attention.
A more timely view of payments and receivables makes it possible to prioritize collections, manage availability and make operational and financial decisions with better information.
The operation can absorb greater volumes without proportionally increasing manual effort.
We can analyze the complete process and identify where automation, integration and business rules can create a more agile and reliable operation.
